Update

Hello,

We've made a decision. We are going to focus on our educational materials. We will be publishing material centered on both Christianity and conservation beginning in 2010. We are very excited about this. We have a goal from both angles. We will have material to show the conservationist the truth about Christ and try to open their hearts to God's Word. We also will have material to show believers how much God cares for all of his creation and that He does not want us to ignore the environmental issues we are facing. Mainly the extinction of wildlife in the animal kingdom He created. We are going to set aside a percentage of all proceeds from the sale of our publications to donate directly to organizations fighting to save these awesome animals.

Thanks.

New Friends and New Ideas

Hello,

What an exciting few weeks. We made some new friends in the Philippines who share our love for conservation. It's so exciting to meet fellow believers who can see that we need to help save these animals. What an awesome thing - the internet! Just 15 years ago it would be near impossible for a small group just getting started to find friends on the on the other side of the planet.

We are currently working on the materials we plan to publish next year. The Vacation Bible School program is going way better than expected. The characters have taken on a life of their own. So much, in fact, we are now considering putting together a children's book based on these characters.

It's amazing just how much the Bible tells us about wildlife. It's important to me to make sure that the Bible is the center of this mission. There are so many verses and stories explaining the relationship between God and his creation that a lot of Christians either have never read, overlooked, or ignored. It's our goal to bring this to their attention. To read our full misson, check us out at: www. christiansforconservation.com

Thanks,
James

Here we go...

Well, here we go. Our group is called "Christians for the Conservation of Endangered Species". It's a mouth full. Anyway, we are in the very beginning phases of this thing. Right now we are still in the decision making process. Do we spend a year gaining 501c3 status? Or, do we become an LLC? Well, the 501c3 would allow us to accept donations to support mission trips. On the other hand if we simply sell our publications as an LLC we can still donate to current nonprofits. Right now, I can see the benefits of both. The main objective is to get Christians involved in saving endangered species and to get conservationists to hear the word of God. It think we can achieve this whichever direction we go.
Check out our site and see what we are about. Let us know what you think.
